A little bit about us here at Pianosa

You were probably expecting to find some long-winded corporate-speak mission statement here because, you know, consultants. Thankfully, we hate that sort of thing just as much as you probably do. Just like you, we're a small business (more on that below) and our goal is simple - to help you leverage technology so that you can spend less time on the mundane things and focus on what makes your business great.

The way we run our business is pretty straightforward (unfortunately not the norm in tech or consulting). We work with you to find processes in your businesses that can be improved or automated (if any), then either implent a solution for you or teach you how to do it yourself. Afterwards, if you like, we are on call for any relevant training or support you need to keep things running smoothly.

How we work with our clients

If you haven't realised already, we operate a little differently - we don't do off-the-shelf solutions or hang around generating endless day-rate invoices.

We prefer to think of our clients like partners, and generally come in to help you solve a specific problem in your business. Some more info about what those problems might look like can be found on our what we do page.

Generally, there are typically three ways we engage with our clients:

1) Workshops

We kick off work with nearly every new client by holding a face-to-face workshop, where we bring research and questions to the table and figure out exactly the best way to help you improve your business.

These sessions are a modest fixed price engagement, and are incredibly valuable - either for us to scope out our work together moving forward, or as a way for you to gain a roadmap to work to if you prefer to implement on your own. Deliverables are typically an 'as-is' technology & process map and a 'to-be' plan for moving forward.

2) Projects

The next step is an implementation project, where we take some or all of the ideas covered in the workshop and put them into practice. To do this, we embed ourselves into your organisation and work closely with key stakeholders to develop a fully integrated technology solution that is completely tailored to your needs.

Also, the project delivery usually includes a thorough training program as a key component. Comprised of workshops, videos and written material, we pride ourselves on ensuring you are able to use the systems effectively from Day 1.

3) Support

For customers that that are worried about (or just don't want the hassle of) administering their new and improved tech stack, we offer a fully managed support plan.

Support contracts are generally billed as a monthly retainer, and can contain a mix of whatever your business needs - from tech support, to training, to on-demand data analysis services.

Small company, big impact

When we said small, we weren't kidding. Pianosa is led by Paul Morren, who is superbly assisted by a revolving group of subject-matter experts based on the current project load.

We're an agile, indie company that is flexible enough to scale up (or down) to just about any size engagement. Whether it's setting up an email newsletter or overseeing custom software builds, we pride ourselves on being approachable, understandable, and effective.
